Julie is an Ecuadorian Filmmaker out of Brooklyn, New York. With an MFA in Film from the City College of New York and a BFA in Screenwriting from Brooklyn College, Julie writes, directs, and records sound for independent films and documentaries with the sole purpose of telling stories that wouldn't normally make it to the big screen.  

Her most recent film El Chuzalongo (2022) premiered in festivals in Canada (Bay of Blood Film Festival), Europe (Lit Scares International Festival) , The United States (Haunted House FearFest, Madness Film Festival, Imagine This Women's Film Festival)  and South America (Festival International de Cine Friki) winning awards like Best Direction, Best Story and Best Editing. 

Julie is currently making El Chuzalongo into a feature length film as well as a new short documenting the migrant experience in New York City. ​ She will continue to create stories that represent herself; minorities, women and the Ecuadorian experience.
